John Goodman

Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer

Leaders do what is right, because it is right.

John Goodman is the Tactical Edge Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the Tactical Edge Executive leadership team, he is responsible for the company’s strategies, operations, and growth.

Prior to joining Tactical Edge in 2012, Mr. Goodman accumulated over 17 years of experience with the Department of Defense and government contracting industry. He served in numerous, high profile program and project management positions supporting software development, professional services, and construction projects. Mr. Goodman is also a former Marine Corps logistics officer and an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran.

Mr. Goodman holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics from George Mason University, where he lettered in varsity baseball. He earned a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in organization leadership and a Master of Accountancy from National University. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). Mr. Goodman is a twelve-gallon blood donor, a native Californian, and is married to the former Stephanie Garber of Natick, MA. They have three beautiful children and reside in San Diego.

Peter Vitale

Founder and Chief Operations Officer

Doing something unimportant well does not make you important.

As the Chief Operating Officer for Tactical Edge, Inc. Mr. Vitale is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day operations of the company and ensuring successful product delivery. In addition to directly supporting current contracts, he is also a member of the Business Development Team, responsible for satisfying leadership’s vision of the future for Tactical Edge. Before helping found Tactical Edge, Mr. Vitale served in various Quality Assurance, Test Lead and Systems Engineering positions. Mr. Vitale fine-tuned his skills working for large corporations such as Hewlett Packard and Boeing, where his roles and responsibilities were quickly increased. His most recent challenge, working as a United States Department of Defense (DoD) contractor, was serving as the Lead Project Manager and Systems Engineer for the BCS3-Node Management (BCS3-NM) product – a complex Command and Control (C2) system for the DoD. His long-standing relationship and favorable reputation with the customer allowed the BCS3-NM program to flourish during the transition to the current contractor. Peter holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and has been a resident of California since moving from the east coast in February of 1994. He currently resides in Escondido with his wife Nicole and four children.

Paul Danckaert

Chief Technology Officer

As the Chief Technology Officer of Tactical Edge, Mr. Danckaert is responsible for the guidance and leadership of the software, platforms, and technical implementations within the company. His responsibilities include a focus on communications and coordination on technology development efforts across the company, introducing new technologies to expand capabilities, and acting as an enabler to fully engage the deep experience of the Tactical Edge team.

Prior to joining Tactical Edge in 2014, Mr. Danckaert worked in a variety of commercial and government contracting roles. Mr. Danckaert has served as CTO in several other commercial and defense companies, leading teams to build innovative solutions and focusing on exceeding customer expectations.

With over twenty years of experience, his involvement in projects ranges from security analysis, IT infrastructure management, and software architecture and development.  Mr. Danckaert has analyzed, planned, and built many software applications currently deployed within commercial and DoD environments.  These projects include web and mobile development, secured information services, data analytics and integration, and tactical network analysis. Mr. Danckaert is currently focused on research in semantic data and ontology development, and the incorporation of real-time sensor and spatial data into dynamic data platforms.

Mr. Danckaert holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University of Maryland.  He is also a certified Scrum Master, and currently resides in Annapolis, Maryland.
