Tactical Edge wins C2 Logistics Software Sustainment Contract
Tactical Edge, as part of the team led by CACI International, Inc., was awarded a contract to provide software engineering and technical services to support the Post Production Software Support activities associated with the Battle Command Sustainment Support System (BCS3). This effort entails providing a complete legacy software sustainment solution to the Army’s Software Engineering Center (SEC) in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The team will rely on an integrated service lifecycle management approach to provide development, testing, systems engineering, customer support, and information assurance services to the customer.
The development team, led by Tactical Edge, will utilize scrum and an incremental agile development framework to offer transparency into the software engineering process and create a collaborative environment with the government customer. BCS3 is a mission assurance category (MAC) 1 classification level (CL) I system. To deliver a secure software product, the team will employ cybersecurity reciprocity to integrate information assurance best practices through each stage of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), reducing redundant security scanning, testing, and redevelopment. The information assurance team incorporates a Risk Management Framework along with specialized tools, such as the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), to provide a product that is hardened against every identified attack vector.
Under the leadership of Tactical Edge, the team will provide architecture virtualization engineering support to the customer, reducing system hardware, hosting and manpower costs associated with deploying the development, test, Q&A, and production environments that are required to release multiple concurrent software products. The final link in the sustainment solution is Tactical Edge’s management of a 24/7/365 tier III support center that provides advanced system engineering guidance to BCS3 operators globally.
