Tactical Edge awarded IT Portfolio Management Project for USMC
Tactical Edge, as part of the team led by WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc., was awarded USMC Expeditionary Warfare Assessment, Optimization, and Information Integration Analysis. This effort entails the implementation of an IT portfolio management software solution in conjunction with IT Portfolio consulting services to optimize Headquarters Marine Corps, Installations & Logistics Branch’s portfolio of an estimated 300 logistics and supply chain management information systems.
Tactical Edge will aggregate data from various sources to articulate systems’ total costs, funding providers, stakeholders, system interfaces, hardware and software it leverages to support operational requirements. With this collection of data Tactical Edge will tailor and implement IT portfolio management software (Troux) and business intelligence tools (Microsoft Power BI) to provide relevant visual and graphical depictions of information to Portfolio Managers. Tactical Edge will customize data meta-models to align with the Marine Corps’ portfolio management processes.
Tactical Edge will leverage more than four decades of government systems engineering experience to support this effort. Technical and logistics subject matter experts will evaluate the possible risks associated with each system noting; (1) manual interfaces, (2) reliance on Overseas Contingency Operations funding, (3) lack of formal requirements, (4) high costs per user, (5) low active user ratios, (6) large support tail, (7) unsupported hardware and/or software, (8) high tickets per user ratio, (9) low system availability, and/or (10) projected end-of-life funding streams.
This project will be managed out of Tactical Edge’s east coast office. To learn more about this or other IT Portfolio Management efforts being executed by Tactical Edge email: info@www.tacticaledge.us.
