Position Description

Tactical Edge, Inc. is actively seeking an experienced Software Developer to join our team in providing state-of-the-art software solutions to NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support. The role involves a strategic approach towards the development and integration of the Navy Community applications. The Software Developer will take a central role in collaborating with other professionals to establish both functional and non-functional requirements for new and existing software applications. This role calls for accountability in prioritizing, designing, and releasing platform features, and the ability to map out complex software system architectures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new and existing software applications, including WebRoR, EFTS and SCIP Navy Community applications.
  • Use tools and methodologies to create representations for functions and user interface of desired product.
  • Under general supervision, develops code, tests, and debugs new software or enhancements to existing software.
  • Has good understanding of business applications.
  • Works with technical staff to understand problems with software and resolve them.
  • Resolves customer complaints with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • May assist in development of software user manuals.
  • Design system context models for WebRoR, EFTS and SCIP Navy Community applications.
  • Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility.
  • Responsible for deliverables such as: --Data modeling; database and table design along with trigger utilization & recommendations. --Writing, developing, compiling, and debugging source code. --Data transfer design using APIs, web services, and other technologies. --System security code & design patterns. --Write object-oriented & scripted code after design stage. --Implement & maintain a source control tool along with managing sprint branches & merges. --Deployment of source code to QA staging areas. --Develop, implement, and maintain all aspects of an application’s code base. --Documenting and updating requirements & bugs in the software development tracking tool / Version One.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

  • Current Active Secret Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
  • 2-4+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or relevant field.
  • IAT Level II certified or ability to become certified.
  • Experience in software projects with detailed knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Asp.net, MVC, C#, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, Web Services, Web APIs, and Product Lifecycle Management software.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
  • Knowledge of computer systems, test management tools, databases, and requirement tracking software.
  • Experience with testing software updates for bugs, validity, browser capability, user experience, and adherence to the documented software update/requirement.
  • Experience with full system regression testing.
  • Experience with writing test plans based on documented software requirement.

Additional Info

  • Please note - this position is on site in Philadelphia but there may be a possibility of a hybrid work schedule (some days in office and some days telecommuting).
