Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides security engineering analysis on a variety of information systems.
  • Develops security accreditation/certification documentation and creates and maintains security policy and procedures.
  • Performs security certification engineering analysis, vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments.
  • Designs and configures security tools and developing test procedures, establishes test environments, executes security certification test/demonstrations/evaluations, documents results, and develops reports, conclusions, and recommendations.

Desired Qualifications

  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
  • Must have knowledge of Government security policies and security-related technologies and auditing tools.
  • Active DoD secret clearance – interim secret or higher (or ability to obtain one).
  • Must have an understanding of national and DoD computer system security policies, the software development process, and the properties of the software.
  • Must have an understanding of computer architectures and operating system concepts.
  • Must have the ability to select and apply relevant security requirements to systems in development and in their fielded environment.
  • Must have the ability to organize protective mechanisms into realizable components of a secure system architecture.
  • Must be capable of developing and executing plans for functional and penetration testing.
  • Highly desirable experience with: -Risk Management Framework (RMF) Security Plan(s) -Software Threat Assessment Report (STAR) (Threat Model) -Study Services (Security Assessment Plan (SAP)) and Security Assessment Report (SAR), and Software Vulnerability Assessment Report (SVAR) -FedRAMP and NIST framework knowledge
  • Experience Implementing and delivering Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) patches, Secure Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIG) updates, and Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) as identified in a Transition Readiness Review
