DevOps/Linux Administrator (Telecommuter)

Tactical Edge is seeking to expand this team with new members experienced in systems (Linux) administration and container (Docker, Kubernetes) management, optionally with cloud-based deployment experience.

Position Description

Tactical Edge is seeking an intelligent, analytical, and technically inclined candidate to provide support to a government client as an Operations Administrator, supporting container and VM-based software deployments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• System Administrator responsibilities include Installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks; monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues; and ensuring security and efficiency of IT infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Development team in support of DevSecOps processes, container deployments, and managing container-based software delivery
• Install and configure software and hardware
• Manage network servers and technology tools
• Set up accounts/manage accounts within the VM environment
• Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
• Assist with building technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies

Desired Qualifications

• Active DoD secret clearance – interim secret or higher
• BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline
• Security+ plus SE certification 8570
• 5+ Years Linux Server Administration (Redhat experience a plus)
• Professional certification (e.g. Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) is a plus
• Experience in Container Orchestration and Management - Docker or Containers, Cloud Hosting (AWS/etc.), Security, and Infrastructure Management (Storage, Backups, etc.)
• Familiarity with Oracle or other Relational Database Management
• Familiarity with DISA STIGs, Information Assurance requirements, and systems security lifecycle management.
• Experience with Apache / Tomcat configuration and management
• Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role
• Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
• Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
• Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
• Excellent communication skills
